Philosophy

This page states plainly what data this site collects, and when. Nothing here is collected without your knowledge.

Telemetry

By default, no analytics run on this site. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings) only load if you opt in through the Privacy Settings control. You can change your choice at any time from the same control.

Each Journal entry and Pursuit keeps an anonymous running count of its views and likes, shown on the page. A count stores no name, IP address, or identifier, and nothing links it to you. To count you once, your browser keeps a small marker on your own device (session or local storage) saying you have already viewed or liked that page. This counting works independently of the analytics choice above.

The Discourse

When you engage with the Journal or Pursuits via the "Notes" function, you voluntarily submit a name and your commentary. This data is collected solely to foster public discourse. It is never aggregated for marketing profiles nor sold to data brokers.

Infrastructure

This site is served through Cloudflare's network, and its database is managed by Supabase.

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. If you send an inquiry, the name, email, and details you enter are stored in the database and emailed to the author through Amazon SES. They are used only to reply to you, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time. If you arrived through a campaign link, the campaign tags in that link and the page that referred you are saved with the inquiry, so the author can see what brought you here.

Your Rights

In alignment with global privacy frameworks (including GDPR and CCPA), you retain the right to request access to, modification of, or complete deletion of any voluntary data (such as published notes) associated with your identity.
